Coins serve as an in-game currency in Pou which resemble golden coins. They are progressively earned by playing with Pou.

Ways To Earn

Minigames

Depending on the minigame, coins are either picked up or progressively obtained by completing different objectives in the minigame.

Hill Drive (on mud), Match Tap, Color Tap, Cliff Jump and Free Fall will be your best options, as they give you more money faster!

Leveling Up

This can passing level by simply taking care of Pou by doing daily activities like:

  • Feeding it
  • Restoring its health
  • Cleaning it
  • Entertaining it
  • Restore its energy

Each level will give to the player the number of level multiplied by 10 (ex: Level 15 = 15 x 10 =  150). This coin-method will stop when player reaches Level 100 or more, then the player will receive  1000. More information can be found here.

Unlocking Achievements

This can be done by reaching goals in certain activities like:

Watching advertisements

This can be done by tapping at the top left corner, after that, click on the coin with the video icon (with a decent connection), each ad should give 30 coins. Coins can also be duplicated with ads after finishing a minigame.

*If less than 30 coins are obtained in a minigame,  30 can still be earned by watching the ad after finishing it.

Purchasing them with real money

To do this, tap the top left corner, then select a number of coins and buy them.

  •  2000:  $0.99
  •  6000:  $2.49
  •  15000:  $4.99
  •  50000:  $12.49
  •  125000:  $24.99

*The prices are measured in US dollars, these amounts vary on the currency of the player's country.

Rubbing Pou when being sad

This can be done by placing the player's finger on Pou and rubbing it. This will only give coins if its fun bar is below 100%. The player receives  1 for every rub until its fun bar is full.

Following the game's official Facebook and Twitter/X accounts

This can be done by tapping at the top left corner, then tapping the options that have the Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) images. This can only be done once.

Cleaning Pou

Coins can be earned by simply showering Pou. With the shower and soap in the Bathroom, the player receives  10, and only  5 when done Outside with the Cloud.

Tapping on the poos

They appear after a period of time, if they do, look for multi-colored poo-shaped forms around Pou, and tap them to get coins.

Watering the Flowers

To do this, you need to go to Pou's hall, then tap the door icon, when you're outside, go to your garden, grab the watering can and water them.

Per watering: 5 coins

Gifts (Events)

Note: Currently, events in Pou are not very frequent.

This can be done by logging in, saving your Pou data or playing an online game every certain time while an event is active.

Events are announced in Pou's Facebook or Twitter/X account. Coins amount may vary.

Sounds

1. When the player get coins playing some mini-game

2. When the player buy some item

This sound also plays when the player get the coin pack. It appears in some games, like Tumble and Jet Pou.

Usage

Coins are used to be spent on different things. They can be spent by buying Food, Outfits, Potions, and customizations, or if you're not leveled up enough to buy something, you can unlock it for 1,999 coins. (But you will need to buy it for it's original price afterwards)

Trivia

  • Currently, the limit for coins is  2147483647, this is due to the fact that Pou is a 32-bit game, surpassing that number will make your coins lock to 0 until you reset the app, resetting your amount to  1.
  • In Minigames, coins produce two sounds. Single coins make a little clinking sound, while clusters of coins make a loud rattling sound (the same one used when purchasing an item).
  • When Pou gets coins, it will open their mouth wide, slightly lower it, and then finally close it. This is similar to Pou's animation when being rubbed.
