The massive success of Pou has lead into many competitors, as the original game has reformulated the virtual pet genre. Here is a list of some of the most well-known and most obscure of these games

Virtual pet games

Frojo Apps

Frojo Apps is an app developer based in Uppsala, Sweden. Its games are primarily of the virtual pet genre, which play similar to Pou. The company's mascot is a purple squidlike creature known as Moy, who currently stars in seven virtual pet games and more games of different genres. Frojo Apps also created similar playing games with different characters such as Loy (a blue boomerang-shaped character), Joy, (a light green character with arms), Meep(a blue character with arms), and many other animals such as Corgis, pugs, cats, dinosaurs, and chickens.

Bootleg games starring Pou

Pou Back Home

Pou Back Home is an unofficial Flash game involving Pou made by 5xplay.com. The goal of the each level in the game is to solve obstacles so that Pou can get back home. At the end of each level, regardless of each level, the person may get a predefined number of stars (usually depending on level score), and a glitch in coding in-game forced every level to be 3 stars (which is then considered a bug).
