Neglected Pou, Abused Pou, Sick Pou, or Dirty Pou is a lot of macro images of pous being sick, the first meme made with an abused Pou image was uploaded years later on April 16th, 2021 with the text "Hey / Hey Shawty". Another popular variant of the meme is this very disturbing-looking pou with black eye and saliva.

An unofficial plush toy of a hungry, tired baby Pou is often used in ironic memes, image macros, and videos, due to its froglike appearance and sad-looking expression. These plushies appear in some YouTube videos and channels in depressing and oftentimes dark situations such as standing in the shower sad, jumping off ledges to end their lives after their partners cheat on them, or getting frozen in water bottles or cups. The meme is often associated with a sped-up version of Rio Romeo's "Nothing's New." Unlike most other Pou memes, this is more famous among English-speaking users.[1]

The K-pop star Kamden has been compared by fans to the baby Pou for having similar facial expressions.[2] Kamden has later referenced these comparisons in an image of himself holding a Pou plush. [3]
